"Amber, Tucker, and Raphael on Satiety, Satiation, Overeating, Food Reward, Obesity, and Palatability"

That was fun!

"Both Amber and Tucker were on the podcast previously.

"They're back today for a chat about satiety, satiation, overeating, food reward, obesity & palatability.

"It all started from a disagreement on Twitter
"Follow Tucker on Twitter @tuckergoodrich https://twitter.com/TuckerGoodrich.

"Amber's website is https://www.mostly-fat.com/ and her bio https://facultativecarnivore.com/about-the-author/. She's @ketocarnivore on Twitter. Her book on the carnivore diet is coming out chapter by chapter, so keep an eye out for it."

We discussed, among other things, these two posts:

Does Linoleic Acid Induce Obesity? A Response to Stephan Guyenet, Part 1

Does Linoleic Acid Induce Obesity? A Response to Stephan Guyenet. Part 2

Peter Dobromylskyj looked into it, and found a very interesting study on the effect of CB1 KO in adipocytes:

"The hypothalamic Reward™ dopaminergic neurons are left untouched. All that happens is that adipocytes lose (at least) the insulin sensitising effect of CB1 receptor activation. Weight completely normalises in less than a month. It's also worth noting that in control mice adipocyte CB1 gene deletion does nothing."

"Fascinating", indeed.

There's a LOT going on here that we don't understand.

Short post on that to follow...
