David Gornoski interviewed me again:
"The Dangers of Seed Oils Part II: Tucker Goodrich Returns with David Gornoski"
"Nutritional researcher Tucker Goodrich returns for another conversation with David Gornoski. The two build on their previous conversation on the harmful effects of PUFAs, the kinds of animal fats our bodies can tolerate, the dangers of soybean oils, the reason for cancer rates going up, ancestral diet, and more. What is oxidation? What kinds of seafood can our bodies tolerate? What is the most effective way of losing weight? Listen to the full podcast to find out."
Or Rumble (where you can see what six hours of sun does to my face!):
Tucker, I am a big, big fan of your work. I am trying to help my wife and my niece to heal from Graves disease. I think linoleic overconsumption may be an important contributing cause. Do you know of supporting evidence for a Graves/linoleic connection? Anything you could share will be greatly appreciated. Here is one study I found on this topic: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33351328/
ReplyDeleteKeep up the amazing work!
Dan
I haven't looked into Grave's specifically, but you are on to something.

The benefit of selenium is telling, as is the presence of MDA and HNE as a biomarker of disease progression, as they're both derived from linoleic acid, of course.
Here are the searches I used: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C13&q=graves+hyperthyroidism+hne&btnG= and https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C13&q=oxidative+stress+graves+disease&btnG=&oq=oxidative+stress+graves.
You'll find a lot more. Good luck!
